“Messy, Messy, Messy!” Those words that were said by Professor Hinkle in “Frosty the Snowman” are very fitting for today. You go outside and it is just messy, messy, messy! Even Al Roker said that the majority part of the country was going be messy due to the “Big Thaw” that was taking place across America. Sometimes it is days like today that we regret even getting up; the weather, the time change and simple fact of it being Monday! However, if we want to develop the proper mindset? We must look at today as raining on the outside, but sunny on the inside. David says,
“This is the day that the Lord has made;
let us rejoice and be glad in it.” – Psalm 118.24
“The Message”, a popular paraphrase says:
“This is the very day God acted—
let’s celebrate and be festive!”
So today as we all dread the day that is Monday, and the day that is “Messy, Messy Messy!” Let’s look at the fact that today is a day that God has made for us and no matter what the condition of it… He wants us to celebrate. Take a few minutes and jot down all the good that has happened today, whether it was receiving a compliment, or something that made you laugh, or it could even be as small as making it to work in one piece. Then after you have written them all down and notice that your list is still not as exhaustive as it could be, life up this prayer:
“Thank you God for this day! Thank you for all of the little things that I seem to always take for granted. Please purify my complaining heart and help me use today to do something that gives You glory. In Jesus name, Amen!
My,my, my isn’t it just the most beautiful day, today?
